About Me

"You'll feel so homesick that you'll want to die, and there's nothing you can do about it apart from endure it. But you will, and it won't kill you. And one day, the sun will come out you might not even notice straight away - it'll be that faint. And then you'll catch yourself thinking about something or someone who has no connection with the past. Someone who's only yours. And you'll realize that this is where your life is."

Stolen [REVIEW]

Title: Stolen
Author: Lucy Christopher
Pages: 304

Summing it up: This is how it happened: Gemma is on a layover in Bangkok, en route to a family vacation in Vietnam. She steps away for just a second. To get a cup of coffee. Ty--rugged, tan, too old, oddly familiar--pays for her drink. And drugs it. They talk. Their hands touch. And before Gemma knows what’s happening, Ty takes her. The object of a long obsession, Gemma has been kidnapped by her stalker and brought to the Australian Outback. To sand and heat. Emptiness and isolation. Where he expects her to love him.

Reason I Decided to Read it: The summary sounded amazing and I liked how it was wrote, as if it was a letter.
The Good: I liked the way it was written; as if Gemma was telling Ty what happened. The writing was unbelievable – wonderful. The description could draw a picture in your mind. The characters were well thought out and real. Ty was my favourite, he isn’t as bad as he seems; he seems to know what true love is. Um, I'm pretty sure this story left me with Stockholm Syndrome.

The Bad: I hated the ending, I hated Gemma’s choice. It wasn’t what I would have chosen if I was her, but you can decide for yourself.

The Over-All: It isn’t historical – which it strange for me – but it is wonderful. Miss Christopher really knew what she was doing. It’s a great summer read and you should pick it up if you have the chance.

Other: There is some swearing, but I can’t remember what. There are some kisses too.

Rated: 5/5.
